This list will only list games that feature Russian vehicles with no alterations to the car design itself aside from debadging (as in, there won't be GTA Online just because there is RUNE Cheburek, which is more fictionalized VAZ-2106). I will also exclude any Unity-based games that use GTA models, due to the fact that I learned that ZAZ Tavria in Motor Depot is also GTA San Andreas mod with the model originally created by Nek, and many others like VAZ-2102 and Lada 2104 are also made from GTA mods with inaccurate models (I'm saying for the hundredth time that VAZ-2102's rear fascia is not flat as you might think from GTA mods. Seriously, look up for VAZ-2102 rear quarter view in Google and start forgetting about GTA model of VAZ-2102 altogether).
Lada Racing Club
Developer: Geleos Media
Publisher: Noviy Disk
Release Date: March 15, 2006
Game Engine: Dagor Engine v1.0
Ripping Tools: Ninja Ripper (Intruder inject or D3D9 wrapper)
Perhaps the most well known one. This game is what I consider it cult classic because you can take one of 18 Lada models (though you can't pick Lada 2104 or VAZ-2102 as the former is just a traffic car for whatever reason and the latter is notoriously absent, and you can't pick VAZ-2103) for a spin around Moscow, despite it being called a flop thanks to its development hell turning the what we expected into what we got today, to the point that there will be a person saying that if Lada Racing Club needs to improve the game, it's best to remake it.
Out of 18 Lada models, only 4 being preset racing models that can't be visually modified. The remaining 14 can be customized with bodykits, spoilers, rims, and even interior, which is quite something. Such car models are lowpoly yet have quite high quality (albeit with 2D lights for some reason), so if you're a Lada enthusiast, this is your perfect option (unless you prefer Lada 2104 or VAZ-2102).
But wait! There's actually more than 18 playable Ladas. Traffic vehicles also contain Lada 2104, Moskvich 2140 and 2141, GAZ-3102, GAZ-3110, GAZelle, and few more. These have fewer polygons, but they're also quite acceptable source, and if you put enough effort to these traffic models, they will be the perfect alternatives to GTA car models (something that I did with my Lada 2104, since for the most of the time people take GTA model of Lada 2104 instead of taking effort of taking LRC traffic model (and VAZ-2105 for that matter) and combining lights and door handles from Need for Russia 4).
When ripping car models with Ninja Ripper, the what should be reflective surface is XBOX HEUG, you'll have to scale it down to ~0.024413. In Zmodeler this is not possible, so you'll have to downscale it to 0.01 first, and only then upscale it to 244.13 to get 0.024413.
Полный Привод 2/Full Drive 2
Developer: Avalon Style Entertainment
Publisher: 1C
Release Date: November 30, 2007 (Hummer), March 14, 2008 (UAZ)
Game Engine: Chrome Engine 2
Ripping Tools: Zmodeler 2
Another well known one. This one is an off-road racing game based on Chrome Engine 2 (the same one as used in Xpand Rally and GTI Racing). This game originally released as Hummer game which, despite it's name, actually features more than Hummers, and they are any other General Motors SUVs and Pickups. Later, UAZ version was released, and all expansion packs made for this game always add new UAZ vehicles.
GM SUVs and Pickups are interesting but we're here not for them. We're here for UAZ, and with all of expansion packs, there are ton of UAZ vehicles around here, from UAZ Bukhanka/Classic, to UAZ Hunter, to UAZ Simbir and Patriot, to even unreleased UAZ concept vehicles. There's also UAZ-produced GAZ-69. Overall, if you're an UAZ enthusiast, you can grab your Zmodeler 2 and start importing your favorite UAZ.
Lowrider Extreme/Ride 'em Low/Турбомания: Низкие Старты and Need for Russia 4
Developer: Red Dot Games
Publisher: Noviy Disk (both games in Russia; I actually don't know the publisher for the rest of the world in case of Lowrider Extreme)
Release Date: September 20, 2010 (Lowrider Extreme), 2011 (Need for Russia 4)
Game Engine: ???
Ripping Tools: Ninja Ripper (Intruder inject)
Both of these games are similar in gameplay, but they all have different vehicle roster and Need for Russia 4 not having hydraulics (with a new City map to compensate).
Lowrider Extreme has only two vehicles that are explicitly Russian: GAZ-24 and Moskvich-2137. These two were retained in Need for Russia 4, with the rest of the roster consists of: VAZ-2101, Lada 2105, Lada Samara (VAZ-2108), Lada 112 Coupe (VAZ-21123), Lada Niva (VAZ-2121), Oka (VAZ-1111), modified Lada Kalina (VAZ-1118), ZAZ-968M, GAZ-13 Chaika, and UAZ-469. None of car models have detailed interior, but their car models are actually quite good, though you'll have to work on the car model for a little bit due to the fact that door lines are not present on model vertexes and are part of body texture. Still, it's better than nothing.
Keep in mind that Steam version of Ride 'em Low only features American vehicles, with no sign of any Russian vehicles whatsoever.
Виртуальный Тюнинг от Восьмёрки до Калины (Virtual Tuning from Samara to Kalina)
Developer: IT-Vision
Publisher: Buka
Release Date: 2010
Game Engine: ???
Ripping Tools: Ninja Ripper (Intruder inject or D3D9 wrapper)
This is less of a racing game (as you can't do the driving), but this is where you can see Lada Kalina in stock form. All cars have 2D stock headlights. As the same suggests, there are no Fiat-based classic Ladas (as in VAZ-2101 to Lada 2107), but you can customize Lada Samara (old and new), Lada Niva (both the original Niva Legend and the Chevrolet Niva), Lada 110, and Lada Kalina. All of the models do look quite inaccurate in some way, but at least it's better than nothing (for such models like Chevrolet Niva and Lada Kalina (stock version at least)), and even then, there are body and interior parts that are absent in Lada Racing Club.
Unlike Lada Racing Club, there are stock spoilers for Lada Samara and Lada 110 vehicles in this game.
Moscow Racer: Автолегенды СССР (Moscow Racer USSR)
Developer: iRS Games
Publisher: Akella
Release Date: 2010
Game Engine: ???
Ripping Tools: Ninja Ripper (Intruder inject)
Another game with Russian vehicles that is also considered as flop. If Lada Racing Club had bad graphics but at least enjoyable physics, this is the complete opposite: good graphics, bad physics. I mean, cars feel like they're on ice when I played this game.
Vehicles in this game are licensed (there's no ZAZ, sadly, mind you), and the roster consists of 10 vehicles. They are: GAZ-M20 Pobeda, Moskvich-400, GAZ-69, UAZ-469, GAZ-13 Chaika, ZiS-110, GAZ-21 Volga, GAZ-24, VAZ-2102, and GAZ-14 Chaika. It looks like developers really love GAZ, so they gave a little bit of 6 to 4 roster ratio towards GAZ. The most interesting thing about this roster was the presence of VAZ-2102, making it one of few games to feature it.
Oh yeah, by ripping car model with Ninja Ripper, you'll have trouble with car's windows and glass if you should import ripped model with Blender. This will make you make multiple snapshots from different car angles to get complete model of car's windows.
Honorable Mentions
These games feature Russian vehicle(s) in the roster of otherwise various cars created around the world.
- World of Speed: During World of Speed beta, Lada Samara (VAZ-2108) was one of available vehicles before the game's Early Access release on Steam (which gets rid of playable VAZ-2108, but the game data still has it anyway) and before the game's ultimate closure. World of Speed is based on Slightly Mad Studios' engine and uses same .bff format as NFS Shift 1 and 2.
- Need for Speed World, Most Wanted 2012, and Rivals: Marussia B2 is a vehicle featured in three Need for Speed games. World is the only game that gives Marussia B2 customization parts. For World, its model can be opened with NFS-CarToolkit.
- Asphalt 8: Marussia B2 was one of few vehicles available in Asphalt 8. Due to Marussia closing their doors in 2014, this car became later unobtainable in Asphalt 8. Notably, A8 Marussia B2 features different rim style than in other games. So far, I don't know if there's a tool made to rip car models from Asphalt 8.
- Colin McRae DiRT: The only Russian vehicle featured in Colin McRae DiRT is Kamaz-4911 Rally Car. As Neon engine is an early version of Ego engine, 3DSimEd can open Kamaz-4911's model.
